Busy three months

Three months since my last post???  Yikes!  We’ve done so much, and I haven’t posted any of it.  I’m sorry, friends.  Let me hit some of the highlights for you:

India — We went, we saw, we flourished!  Our training trip to India was fantastic in pretty much every way.  For two weeks, we spent about seven hours each day in class.  What was cool about that time was that while Michael and I were learning intercultural stuff, discipleship techniques, and growing in the Word, Emma and Sofia were doing many of the same things with the other MKs/TCKs (Missionary Kids/Third-Culture Kids).  We made so many friends from so many places, including lots of Indian kindreds.  We visited an Indian family one evening for dinner in their home.  We shopped the commercial center among Hindus and Muslims while cows wandered with us down the street (true story).  We ate lots of interesting food.  But the best part for me was watching how my family adapted so easily to life in a different country.  It was heart-warming.

Moving — In short, we did.  Our house sold as soon as we returned from India, and last week we said goodbye to our beloved home.  A wonderful family we know bought it, so it is cool to know that the house will be taken care of and treasured.  In the meantime, we are renting a small house that will be perfect until time to move to Spain.

Which leads me to…

Spain — We have a new assignment!  Most of you probably remember that we were supposed to be going to Germany but that those plans changed in April when the team moved back to the States.  While in India, we were able to network with enough people to come up with the bones of a plan, which were solidified quickly upon returning.  So our new plan is that we will move to southern Spain to join a family that is doing outreach, discipleship, and church planting in a small village.  We don’t have exact specifics about where we will live, but we will be in the same general area they are in and we will be learning from these seasoned veterans.  We are very excited.

For the sake of not overwhelming you, I’ll call it quits for now.  Life is very busy at this moment, but I will try to write more often.

Peace be with you, my friends.
